On the site
of the new airport, "Willy Brandt" Berlin-Brandenburg International (BBI)
in September the 11th ILA Air Show in Schönefeld took place, after the
Second World.
The
new fairground is located in the west of the airport and a few
kilometers away from the old location.
Compared to the old fair grounds the possibilities on the new site, to
capturing images, are a lot worse. The air shows are mostly held in back
light, and the opposite side of the area was off limits. Also in the
exhibition, the aircrafts were too close together and were surrounded
mainly with fences. The big planes were even more difficult to shoot,
such as the A380 of Emirates or the new B747-8 from Lufthansa.
The best images are obtained, if you had the opportunity to be on the
fairgrounds, a few days before the official opening

Conclusion
Overall, the yield was better than expected, but probably only because
the opening of the new airport is ways off. The new taxiway will then
probably no longer available.
The upcoming ILA 2014 will be held from 20th – 25th May 2014.With mixed
feelings, I'll probably visit the 12th ILA in 2014.
