Aerobatic Teams of the RTAF
In
the history of the RTAF were some unofficial aerobatic teams, unfortunately,
not much information has existed.
The first aerobatic team went on show during the first RTAF Open days, 1-3
April 1938. They flew four Avro 504s from Flying Training School for some
years until WW II.
After the war a 4-ship formation of Grumman Bearcat flew for a short
time.
In
der Geschichte der RTAF gab es einige inoffizielle Kunstflugteams, leider
existieren sehr wenige Informationen.
das erste Kunstflugteam machte eine Vorführung am ersten Tag der offenen
Türe der RTAF am 1-3 April 1938. Sie flogen bis zum zweiten Wekltkrieg
vier Avro 504 von der Trainings-Schule.
Nach den zweiten Weltkrieg flog eine Formation von vier Grumman Bearcats
für eine kurze Zeit.
In the 60ties where two teams flying 9-ship F-86Fs, each from Wing 1 and Wing 4. Sometimes they flew up to 12 aircraft in formation. It seems that these teams were disbanded after Vietnam War when US withdrew its military assistance from Thailand.
In den 60er Jahren waren zwei Teams, von 1. und 4. Wing, die mit einer 9er Formation von F-86F flogen. Ab und zu wurde eine 12er Formation verwendet. Nach dem Abzug der Amerikaner aus Vietnam und der Einstellung der militärischen Unterstützung wurden die Teams aufgelöst.
During late 1970s to 1980s, the Flying Training School was sometimes given a task of air display. Four-ship T-37s were used. Pilots were selected from instructor pilots in T-37 squadron and they flew an extra period in late afternoon for their training. Once they called themselves "Saenmuang" or "City of Saen" to represent the name of the place where the school located, Kampangsaen. “Saen Muang” flew occasionally on special occasions until a tragic accident on 27 March 1987 when two aircraft collided in mid-air. The team did not fly again after this accident.
In den späten 70er Jahren bis zu den 80er wurde der Flying Training School ab und zu der Auftrag für eine Vorführung gegeben. Eine 4er Formation von T-37 wurde verwendet. Die Piloten waren ausgewählte Instruktoren der T-37 Staffel und flogen extra Trainingseinheiten am späten Nachmittag. Sie nannten sich selbst "Saen Muang" oder "City of Saen" welches den Standort der Schule repräsentierte. “Saenmuang” flog nur an speziellen Anlässen bis zum tragischen Unfall vom 27 März 1987 als zwei Maschinen in der Luft kollidierten. Nach diesem Unfall flog das Team nie wieder.

Phoenix are the first ever formed RTAF Aerobatic Team, which fly five
blue, white and red painted Pilatus PC-9 aircraft, all fitted with white
smoke generators. The team is a part of Flying Training School RTAF
Squadron based at Nakhon Pathom's Kamphaeng Saen Air Force Base, and so
the pilots are instructors from the same squadron. Blue Phoenix
inheriting the aerobatic flying spirit from their former very own
aerobatic team of the RTAF Flying School called “Sean Mueang” that was
disbanded several decades ago.
RTAF use the immortal phoenix bird to represent the spirit of aviation
of RTAF to remember the work of RTAF founding father work gave the birth
of aviation in Thailand. It is also a symbol of the rebirth of aerobatic
team of RTAF.
The team was formed in the beginning of 2012 to mark the 100th
anniversary of Thai Aviation. The team made their first public display
on Children's Day 2012 at Don Muang Force Air Base. Other performances
are expected in April and June, but the main show will take place on 2.
July 2012 at RTAFB Don Mueang for the Centennial of the RTAF Founding
Fathers' Aviation celebrations.
Blue Phoenix first made debuted at RTAF Flying School on 27. March 2012
as a part of the launch event of the 100th anniversary of Royal Thai Air
Force founding father of Aviation. After that making the tour to Chiang
Mai and Udon Thani before participated the main event of 100th
anniversary of Royal Thai Air Force founding father of Aviation in Don
Mueang, Bangkok.
Die Blue
Phoenix sind das Kunstflugteam der RTAFB. Sie verwenden fünf blau, weiß und
rot lackierte Pilatus PC-9 Flugzeuge, die alle mit weißen Rauchgeneratoren
ausgestattet sind. Das Team ist ein Teil der Flugschule des RTAF Squadron
auf der Royal Thai Air Force Base im Landkreis Kamphaeng Saen der Provinz
Nakhon Pathom. Die Piloten des Teams sind auch Ausbildner auf dieser Basis.
Blue Phoenix sind Erben der Kunstflugstaffel der RTAF Flugschule namens
„Sean Mueang“, die vor einigen Jahrzehnten aufgelöst wurde.
Sie verwenden darum auch den Namen des unsterblichen Vogel Phönix, um an den
Geist der Royal Thai Air Force zu erinnern. Es ist auch ein Symbol für die
Wiedergeburt der Kunstflugstaffel „Sean Muang“ der RTAF.
Das Team wurde im Anfang 2012 gegründet, um den 100. Jahrestag der
thailändischen Luftfahrt zu feiern. Das Team machte seinen ersten
öffentlichen Auftritt am Kindertag 2012 auf der RTAFB Don Mueang. Weitere
Vorführungen waren im April und Juni, aber die Hauptshow war am 2. Juli 2012
auf dieser Air Base zur Erinnerung der Gründerväter der Royal Thai Air
Force.
Am 27. März 2012 flogen sie als Teil der Eröffnungsveranstaltung des 100.
Jahrestages der Royal Thai Air Force. Danach machten sie eine Tour nach
Chiang Mai, Udon Thani bevor sie am Hauptanlass des 100. Jahrestages der
Royal Thai Air Force in Don Mueang, Bangkok teilnahmen.
