Die Maschine wird als ziviler Trainer No. 1 (BPh.1 บ.พ๑) bezeichnet.
Die Cessna 150 wurden als Basistrainer für zivile Personen verwendet. Bei diesem Programm konnten sich Zivilisten zu Piloten Ausbilden lassen, ähnlich wie bei einer zivilen Flugschule. Die Kosten der Ausbildung musste der angehende Pilot tragen.
