The Israeli Aircraft Industries Arava is a light STOL utility transport aircraft built in Israel by IAI in the late 1960s.

The Arava was IAI's first major aircraft design to enter production. It was intended both for the military and civil market, but the aircraft was only built in relatively small numbers. The customers were found mainly in third world countries, especially in Central and South America as well as Swaziland and Thailand.

Die israelische Luftfahrtindustrie Arava ist ein leichtes STOL-Transportflugzeug, das IAI Ende der 1960er Jahre in Israel gebaut hat.
Die Arava war das erste große Flugzeugdesign von IAI, das in Produktion ging. Es war sowohl für den militärischen als auch für den zivilen Markt bestimmt, das Flugzeug wurde jedoch nur in relativ geringen Stückzahlen gebaut. Die Kunden wurden hauptsächlich in Ländern der Dritten Welt gefunden, insbesondere in Mittel- und Südamerika sowie in Swasiland und Thailand.

The plane was designated Reconnaisance-Transportplane No. 7 (BTL.7 บตล.๗).

Die Maschine wurde als Aufklärungs-Transport-Flugzeug No. 7 (BTL.7 บตล.๗)  bezeichnet.

1980 acquired the RTAF three IAI Arava 201.

The Arava is used not in the classical transport role however used as reconnaissance aircraft.The Arava was used from 1980 to approx. 1993 of the 404 Sqn. From 1993 to 2003 the same planes were used by the 605 sqn. and to fly today as part of the Sqn 402.

1980 erwarb die RTAF drei IAI Arava 201. Die Arava wird jedoch nicht in der klassischen Transportrolle eingesetzt sondern wird als Aufklärer verwendet. Die Arava wurde von 1980 bis ca. 1993 von der 404 Staffel verwendet. Ab 1993 bis 2003 wurden die gleichen Flugzeuge von der 605 Staffel verwendet und fliegen heute als Teil der Staffel 402.
