The design of the Prince continued from the P.48 Merganser. Further development of the type led to the Survey Prince survey aircraft and the Sea Prince. An improved version of the Prince 3 with an increased wingspan and engine and undercarriage modifications was developed for the Royal Air Force as the Percival Pembroke.
Das Design des Prince wurde con der P.48 Merganser abgeleitet. Eine Weiterentwicklung des Typs führte zum Vermessungsflugzeug Survey Prince und zum Sea Prince. Eine verbesserte Version des Prince 3 mit vergrößerter Spannweite sowie Motor- und Fahrwerkmodifikationen wurde für die Royal Air Force als Percival Pembroke entwickelt.

Die Royal Thai Army Betrieb eine Hunting Percival P.54 Survey Prince 3A Mk.1. Die im April 1952 gelieferte Maschine diente zur Kartographierung. 1955 wurde die Prince an die Royal Thai Air Force abgegeben.
