The Pilatus P-3 was a
military training aircraft designed for primary and advanced training (including
night flying, aerobatics and instrument flying) built by Pilatus
Aircraft of Switzerland. It was of all-metal construction with a
retractable tricycle undercarriage and tandem seating. The first
prototype was built in 1953 and flew on 3 September, the same year. The
Swiss Air Force received 72 examples of this aircraft while the
Brazilian Navy acquired six. The Swiss Air Force used the P-3 as a
training aircraft until 1983, although it continued to be used as a

Die Pilatus P-3 war ein
militärisches Trainings-flugzeug für die Grund- und Weiterbildung
(ein-schliesslich Nachtflug, Kunstflug und Instrumenten-flug) von Pilatus Aircraft aus der Schweiz. Es war eine Ganzmetallkonstruktion mit einem
einzieh-baren Dreiradfahrwerk und Tandemsitzen. Der erste Prototyp wurde 1953
gebaut und flog am 3. Septem-ber desselben Jahres. Die Schweizer Luftwaffe
erhielt 72 Exemplare dieses Flugzeugs, die brasilianische Marine sechs. Die
Schweizer Luftwaffe setzte die P-3 bis 1983 als Trainings-flugzeug ein, wurde
aber noch ein weiteres Jahrzehnt als Verbindungsflugzeug eingesetzt.
