The Pilatus PC-7 Turbo Trainer is a low-wing tandem-seat training aircraft designed and manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland.The PC-7 was developed from the preceding Pilatus P-3, largely differing by the adoption of a turboprop engine, a bubble canopy, and a new one-piece wing. Introduced during the 1970s, it has since developed a sizable presence of the global trainer market. On 12 August 1978, the first production aircraft made its first flight.
Der Pilatus PC-7 Turbo Trainer ist ein von Pilatus Aircraft in der Schweiz entworfenes und hergestelltes Tiefdecker-Trainingsflugzeug mit Tandemsitz. Die PC-7 wurde aus dem Vorgänger Pilatus P-3 entwickelt und unterschied sich weitgehend durch die Einführung eines Turboprop-Triebwerks, einer Tropfenhaube und eines neuen einteiligen Flügels. Sie wurde in den 1970er Jahren eingeführt und hat sich seitdem eine beträchtliche Präsenz auf dem globalen Trainermarkt entwickelt. Am 12. August 1978 absolvierte das erste Serienflugzeug seinen Erstflug.

Einsatzgeschichte
Das Flugzeug PC-7 ist ein zweisitziger Turbo-Trainer für die moderne Pilotenausbildung. Der PC-7 dient im militärischen Bereich der Grundaus-bildung, besonders im Kunstflug und Blindflug. Die Bedienung der Propeller-Turbine bringt dem Flugschüler erste Erfahrungen für den späteren Einsatz auf Flugzeugen mit Düsentriebwerken. Die Ausbildungs- und Trainingsflugzeuge PC-7 zählen weltweit zu den leistungsfähigsten und modernsten Typen dieser Kategorie; sie sind seit 1982 in den Pilotenschulen der Schweizer Luftwaffe im Einsatz.
