A twin engined flying boat of which one was ordered as XPBB-1 on 29 June 1940. Carrying serial 3144, it flew for the first time on 5 or 9 July 1942. The project was cancelled late in 1942 but was re-instated in 1944 when 57 PBB-1s were ordered with serials 03745 - 03801. Based on experiences in the Pacific the strategy shifted towards land based bombers and this order was also cancelled.
Ein zweimotoriges Flugboot von dem am 29. Juni 1940 ein Prototyp als XPBB-1 bestellt wurde. Die Maschine mit der Seriennummer 3144 flog am 5 oder 9 Juli 1942 zum ersten Mal. Das Projekt wurde Ende 1942 aufgegeben, aber 1944 wurden 57 PBB-1 mit den Seriennummern 03745 - 03801 bestellt. Auf der Grundlage der Erfahrungen im Pazifik-krieg verschob sich die Strategie zu Gunsten landgestützten Bombern und dieser Auftrag wurde wiederum aufgehoben.
