The Curtiss A-1 Triad was the first Seaplane and Amphibian ever made. The name "Triad" stands for three: land, air and water. Curtiss developed the Triad for the U.S. Navy. The A-1 Triad which Curtiss himself had test flown on Feb. 25, 1911, was the first seaplane to fly in this country, the first amphibious aircraft and the first US. Naval aircraft.

 
 

Die Curtiss A-1 Triad war das erste Wasser und Amphibienflugzeug das je gebaut wurde. Der Name "Triad" steht für drei: Land-, Luft und Wasser. Curtiss entwickelte die Triad für die US Navy. Die A-1 Triad, die Curtiss selbst entwickelt wurde war das erste Wasserflugzeug in den USA und das erste Amphibien-Flugzeug US. Naval Flugzeug und wurde am 25. Februar 1911 zum ersten Mal geflogen.

Einsatzgeschichte
  The first aircraft purchased by the Navy was the Curtiss A-1 Triad, an experimental biplane. The plane was used in the first night landings on water that didn’t involve the use of lights, and pilots used the Triad to successfully test airborne wireless communication. The Triad also illustrated the versatility of aircraft; it could land on water and on land.   Das erste Flugzeug das von der Navy gekauft wurde war die Curtiss A-1 Triad, ein experimentelle Doppeldecker. Das Flugzeug wurde für die ersten Nacht Landungen auf dem Wasser und für Funk Experimente verwendet. Die Triad illustriert auch die Vielseitigkeit des Flugzeugs, es konnte auf  Wasser und Land starten und landen.
