The Swearingen Metroliner (later
Fairchild Aero-space Metroliner) is a 19-seat, pressurized,
twin-turboprop airliner first produced by Swearingen Aircraft and later
by Fairchild Aircraft at a plant in San Antonio, Texas. Ed Swearingen, a
Texas fixed-base operator, started the developments that led to the
Metro through gradual modifications to the Beechcraft Twin Bonanza and
Queen Air business aircraft, which he dubbed Excalibur. |
