History 

HATUPAC (Heavy Attack Training Unit Pacific) was established at NAS North Island CA 15. June 1957, moved to NAS Whidbey Island WA 1. July 1957. The training squadron for WestPac it flew Douglas F3D-2T, Grumman F9F-8T, Douglas A3D-1/2/2T, and Lockheed P2V-3B aircraft. It was redesignated VAH-123 on 29. June 1959.
