Carrier Wings

 

  With the deactivation of Carrier Air Wing 14, the U.S. Navy has now only 9 carrier groups left. This was different during the Cold War and the Second World War. Around 50 carrier groups were involved during the Pacific War and the Cold War. The carriers and carrier groups were and still are the spearhead of all US Forces.
