The Cessna Citation Excel is an American midsize business jet built by Cessna. The Model 560XL first flew on 29. February 1996, and over 1,000 have been delivered. The 3,900 km range, 9,200 kg MTOW jet is powered by two 3,650–4,080 lbf PW500 turbofans, has the cruciform tail and unswept supercritical wing of the Citation V (560), and a slightly shortened Citation X stand-up cabin. The XLS 2004 update had upgraded engines and a glass cockpit and the 2008 XLS+ had upgraded engines and a revised nose. The Excel is part of the Citation family.

Die Cessna Citation Excel ist ein von Cessna gebautes amerikanisches Business-Jet mittlerer Größe. Das Modell 560XL flog erstmals am 29. Februar 1996 und wurde über 1.000 Mal ausgeliefert. Der Jet mit 3.900 km Reichweite und 9.200 kg MTOW wird von zwei PW500-Turbofans mit 3.650–4.080 lbf angetrieben, hat das kreuz-förmige Heck und den ungepfeilten überkritischen Flügel der Citation V (560) und eine leicht verkürzte Citation X-Standkabine. Das XLS 2004 Update hatte verbesserte Motoren und ein Glascockpit und das 2008 XLS+ hatte verbesserte Motoren und eine überarbeitete Nase. Das Excel ist Teil der Citation-Familie.

The original version had two cockpit configurations.

Improved version with a glass cockpit based on the Honeywell Primus 1000 EFIS avionics suite, the XLS featured the upgraded PW545B engines.

Another upgraded version with the inclusion of FADEC engine controls, improved PW545C engines, and a completely revised nose.
