 The Gloster Gladiator is a British-built biplane fighter. It was used by the RAF and was exported to a number of other air forces during the late 1930s. It was the RAF's last biplane fighter aircraft and was rendered obsolete by newer monoplane designs even as it was being introduced. Though often pitted against more formidable foes during the early days of the Second World War, it acquitted itself reasonably well in combat.

The Gladiator saw action in almost all theatres during the Second World War. The RAF used it in France, Norway, Greece, the defence of Malta, the Middle East, and the brief Anglo-Iraqi War.		   Die Gloster Gladiator ist ein britischer Doppeldecker. Es wurde von der RAF verwendet zu einer Reihe von anderen Luftwaffen in den späten 1930er Jahren exportiert. Es war das letzte Doppeldeckerflugzeug der RAF und wurde von neueren Eindecker-Designs abgelöst. Obwohl er sich in den frühen Tagen des Zweiten Weltkrieges oft gegen bessere Maschinen eingesetzt wurde bewährte es sich im Kampf ziemlich gut.
Der Gladiator war in fast allen Theatern während des Zweiten Weltkrieges eingesetzt.  Die RAF nutzte sie in Frankreich, Norwegen, Griechenland, die Verteidigung von Malta, dem Nahen Osten und den kurzen anglo-irakischen Krieg.
