|
The Pilatus PC-6 Porter is a
single-engined STOL utility aircraft designed by Pilatus Aircraft of
Switzerland. First flown in 1959, the PC-6 continues in production at
Pilatus Flugzeugwerke in Stans, Switzerland. It has been built in both
piston engine- and turboprop-powered versions and was produced under
licence for a time by Fairchild Hiller in the United States.
The airframe is of a rugged and low-maintenance construction; featuring
high levels of accessibility, interchangeability, and favourable manning
levels. The wings, fuselage, and empennage are manufactured using
conventional semi-monocoque construction techniques, the primary
structure being composed of aluminium; the central structure retains
critical strength despite the cutout areas for the sliding doors of the
main cabin. Corrosion resistance is achieved via a combination of
plating and a polyurethane-based enamel paint. The simple nature of the
structure allows for ease of repair in the field. Features such as
low-pressure tyres, twin-clipper disc brakes, and a highly
energy-absorbent undercarriage enable the aircraft to be capable of
operating from rough or otherwise challenging terrain.

Die Pilatus PC-6 Porter ist ein
einmotoriges STOL-Nutzflugzeug von Pilatus Aircraft aus der Schweiz. Der
1959 erstmals geflogene PC-6 wird bei den Pilatus Flugzeugwerken in Stans,
Schweiz, weiter produziert. Es wurde sowohl in Kolbenmotor- als auch in
Turboprop-Versionen gebaut und wurde von Fairchild Hiller in den USA eine
Zeitlang in Lizenz hergestellt.
Die Flugzeugzelle ist von einer robusten und wartungsarmen Konstruktion; Sie
zeichnen sich durch hohe Zugänglichkeit, Austauschbarkeit und günstige
Wartung aus. Die Flügel, der Rumpf und das Leitwerk werden unter Verwendung
herkömmlicher Halbschalen-Konstruktion hergestellt, wobei die Primärstruktur
aus Aluminium besteht; Trotz der Aussparungen für die Schiebetüren der
Hauptkabine behält die zentrale Struktur ihre kritische Stärke. Die
Korrosionsbeständigkeit wird durch eine Kombination von Plattierung und
einer Lackfarbe auf Polyurethanbasis erreicht. Die einfache Art der Struktur
ermöglicht eine einfache Reparatur im Feld. Eigenschaften wie
Niederdruckreifen, Scheibenbremsen und ein stark energieabsorbierendes
Fahrgestell ermöglichen es dem Flugzeug, in rauem oder anderweitig
anspruchsvollem Gelände zu arbeiten. |
