The Scottish Aviation Twin
Pioneer was a British STOL transport aircraft built by Scottish Aviation
Limited at Prestwick Airport, Scotland, during the 1950s. It was
designed for both civil and military operators. It was conceived as a
twin-engined version of the Pioneer light transport. |

Bird & Sons, Inc., operated four
former Philippine Airlines Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer STOL aircraft. In
September 1965 the Twin's where taken over by the new Continental Air
Services, Inc. (CASI.
One plane crashed while operated by Bird & Sons, Inc.on the 24. September
1964 at LS-48 (Skidded off the end of the runway). Two others were lost on
covert missions in Vietnam and Laos. |
