The Sikorsky H-34 or S-58 is a piston-engined military helicopter originally designed by American aircraft manufacturer Sikorsky as an anti-submarine warfare aircraft for the U.S. Navy. It has seen extended use when adapted to turbine power by the British licensee as the Westland Wessex and Sikorsky as the later S-58T.
The Sikorsky S-58 was developed as a lengthened and more powerful version of the Sikorsky Model S-55, or UH-19 Chickasaw, with a similar nose, but with a tail-dragger rear fuselage and landing gear, rather than the high-tail, 4-post pattern. It retained the nose-mounted piston engine with the drive shaft passing through the cockpit placed high above the cargo compartment. The aircraft first flew on 8 March 1954.

Der Sikorsky H-34 oder S-58 ist ein Militär-hubschrauber mit Kolbenmotor, der ursprünglich vom amerikanischen Hersteller Sikorsky als U-Boot-Kampfflugzeug für die U.S. Navy entwickelt wurde. Es hat ausgedehnte Verwendung erfahren, als es von dem britischen Lizenznehmer als Westland Wessex und von Sikorsky später als S-58T mit Turbinentriebwerken ausgerüstet wurde.
Die Sikorsky S-58 wurde als verlängerte und stärkere Version des Sikorsky Model S-55, oder UH-19 Chickasaw entwickelt, mit einer ähnlichen Nase, aber mit einem tiefen Heckrumpf mit einem Fahrwerk, anstelle des hohen Schwanzes. Es behielt den Kolbenmotor im Bug  bei, wobei die Antriebswelle durch das hoch über dem Laderaum platzierte Cockpit fuhr. Der Hubschrauber flog erstmals am 8. März 1954.

The S-85T is a commercial conversion to turboshaft power using Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3 Twin-Pac turboshaft with special nose cowling featuring distinctive twin rectangular air intakes.

Die S-85T ist eine  Turbowellentriebwerk mit Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3 Twin-Pac-Turbowelle umgerüstete Variante mit spezieller Bugverkleidung mit markanten rechteckigen Doppel-Lufteinlässen.
