The
Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland
is perhaps best known to the world of politics, governments, industries,
civil society and academia.
Many of
these „Top-Shots“travel in their own private, company or government Jets
to Switzerland.
Sadly,
Davos hasn’t got its own airport, so all the big jets land at Basel,
Geneva and mostly at Zurich-Airport. From there the VIP’s travel by
helicopter shuttle service to the town of Davos.
During
the time of the WEF meeting, dozens of private aircrafts, some are
really exotic, parked at a separate apron on the Zurich Airport. For
these aircraft spotters like Mike Fader and me, it was no doubt to drive
to Zurich Airport to get a few good shots! Even it was fogy and freezing
cold we spend almost five hours along the runways and apron. |
Seit
Jahrzehnten findet jeweils im Januar das alljährliche „World Economic
Forum“ (WEF) statt.
In

Not too
cold to fly, but surely to cold to do some pictures! Even the little
birdie was not amused about flying. The sort, of going to Zurich
was great, the weather was bad! Anyway we decided to show the pictures we
made.
Andreas Herzog had the idea
of photographing the WEF aircraft in Zurich. It was a good idea, but the
weather was poor. It wasn’t just the cold that gave us a hard time, but
the fog as well. Unfortunately, the skies didn’t clear as forecast, but
remained overcast all day. Nevertheless, we don’t want to consign the
photos we took to the archives, as there are some rare birds among them. |
darunter. |

Andy
knows the Airport pretty well because of its previous time, while he
worked for the charter Airline SATA. In no time we found the best
places
to get the best shoots you can get. The west side of the airport was a
very good position as you can see. |
Andy

The
best place was finally the terrace on the top of terminal E (Midfield
dock) Even to get there was already an adventure on its own. Security
check like the regular passengers. Handbag scanner etc. We almost looked
like we are going to holyday. And beware if you forgot to remove
your
belt with the metal buckle!
But finally on the Terrace we had an excellent view to both runways and
the apron and see many rare private aircrafts taking off. |
fotografieren. |

Conclusion: we will go again to Zurich Airport but rather in the
summertime, then in the winter. Definitely to cold! |
