I first came into contact with aviation at the age of 14. My involvement with aviation became more intense from 1964 onwards, when I was in the military at BA-132 in Colmar-Meyenheim during my military service. At that time, the Dassault Mirage III B, C and Lockheed T-33 were stationed in Meyenheim.

After my military service, my career path led me to IBM. For around 28 years, I worked in IT and was responsible for the computer systems of over 300 grocery stores.

I took my first photographs of aeroplanes from 1964 onwards at BA-132 in Colmar-Meyenheim using a Kodak Instamatic camera. Initially these were black-and-white shots, later in colour using the EDIXA Prismaflex.

My archive now comprises around 200,000 slides (Kodachrome and, later, after the end of K64, Fuji Provia F 100). For the past two years, I have been taking digital photographs with a Sony Digital PowerShoot camera.

Mit der Fliegerei bin ich im Alter von 14 Jahren in Kontakt gekommen. Intensiver wurde der Kontakt mit der Fliegerei ab 1964 als ich im Militär auf der BA-132 in Colmar-Meyenheim auf dem Kontrollturm arbeite. In Meyenheim waren zu dieser Zeit die Dassault Mirage III B, C und Lockheed T 33 stationiert.

Die ersten Aufnahmen von Flugzeugen habe ich ab 1964 auf der BA-132 in Colmar-Meyenheim mit einer Kodak Instamatic Kamera gemacht. Anfangs noch schwarz-weiss Aufnahmen später mit der EDIXA Prismaflex in Farbe.

Mein Archiv um fasst heute rund 200'000 Dias (Kodachrome uns später nach dem Ende des K64 Fuji Provia F 100). Seit zwei Jahren fotografiere ich digital mit einer Sony Digital Power shoot Kamera.
