The KAI T-50 Golden Eagle is a family of South Korean supersonic advanced trainers and light combat aircraft, developed by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) with Lockheed Martin. The T-50 is South Korea's first indigenous supersonic aircraft and one of the world's few supersonic trainers. Development began in the late 1990s, and its maiden flight occurred in 2002. The aircraft entered active service with the Republic of Korea Air Force in 2005.

The T-50 has been further developed into aerobatic and combat variants, namely T-50B, TA-50, and FA-50. The T-50B serves with the South Korean air force's aerobatics team. The TA-50 light attack variant has been ordered by Indonesia. The Philippines ordered 12 units of the FA-50 variant. Thailand ordered 12 units of the T-50 advanced trainer variant.

Die KAI T-50 Golden Eagle ist eine Familie südkoreanischer Überschalltrainer und Leichtflug-zeuge, die von Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) zusammen mit Lockheed Martin entwickelt wurde. Der T-50 ist Südkoreas erstes einheimisches Überschallflugzeug und einer der wenigen Überschalltrainer der Welt. Die Entwicklung begann in den späten 1990er Jahren und der Jungfernflug erfolgte 2002. Das Flugzeug wurde 2005 in den aktiven Dienst der Luftwaffe der Republik Korea gestellt.
Die T-50 wurde zu Kunstflug- und Kampfvarianten weiterentwickelt, nämlich T-50B, TA-50 und FA-50. Der T-50B dient dem Kunstflug-Team der südkoreanischen Luftwaffe. Die TA-50-Light-Attack-Variante wurde von Indonesien bestellt. Die Philippinen bestellten 12 Einheiten der FA-50-Variante. Thailand bestellte 12 Einheiten der T-50 Advanced Trainervariante.

The plane is designated leadinfighter No. 2 (BKhF.2 บ ข ฝ. ๒).

Die Maschine wird als Jagdbomber No. 2 (BKhF.2 บขฝ.๒)  bezeichnet.

In September 2015, the RTAF ordered the first four Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) T-50THs to replace the Aero L-39 Albatross. In July 2017, a further eight aircraft were ordered. The third order for four aircraft was placed in 2018, but this was then reduced to two aircraft.

All aircraft are used by the 401 Squadron 4 Wing at RTAFB Thakli.

Im September 2015 bestellte die RTAF die ersten vier Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) T-50TH als Ersatz für die Aero L-39 Albatross. Im Juli 2017 wurden weitere 8 Maschinen bestellt. die dritte Bestellung von vier Maschinen erfolgte 2018, diese wurde aber dann auf 2 Maschinen gekürzt.

Alle Maschinen werden von der 401 Staffel 4 Wing auf dem Stützpunkt RTAFB Thakli verwendet.
