Entwicklung
In 1940 the Cadet LCA was selected by the US Army Air Corps as being suitable for use as a radio-controlled target. The first aircraft was designated the Culver A-8 (later the XPQ-8) and was based on the Cadet LFA but had fixed tricycle landing gear. In late 1941 the US Navy acquired a PQ-8A for evaluation and then ordered 200 in 1941 as the TDC-2.
m Jahr 1940 wurde die Cadet LCA von der US Army Air Corps als geeignet für den Einsatz als Zieldarstellungsflugzeug ausgewählt. Das erste Flugzeug erhielt die Bezeichnung Culver A-8 (später die XPQ-8) und wurde auf der Basis der Cadet LFA mit einem festen Dreibein-Fahrwerk entwickelt. Ende 1941 erwarb die US Navy eine PQ-8A für die Testzwecke und bestellte dann 1941 200 Maschinen als TDC-2.

Einsatzgeschichte
Most of the Culver target aircraft were "blasted out of the sky" by Navy anti-aircraft gunners.
