The Grumman F2F-1 was a single-engine, biplane fighter aircraft with retractable undercarriage, serving as the standard fighter for the United States Navy between 1936 and 1940.
The F2F-1 had a relatively long service life for the time, serving in front-line squadrons from 1935 to late 1939, when squadrons began to receive the F3F-1 as a replacement. By September 1940, the F2F had been completely replaced in fighter squadrons and was relegated to training and utility duties.

Die Grumman F2F-1 war ein einmotoriger Doppeldecker mit einziehbarem Fahrwerk und war der standard Jäger der U.S. Navy zwischen 1936 und 1940.
Die F2F-1 hatte eine relativ lange Einsatzdauer für ihre Zeit und diente in den Frontstaffeln von 1935 bis Ende 1939. Sie wurde später von der F3F-1 ersetzt. Dis zum September 1940 wurden alle Maschinen ersetzt und in Ausbildungs- und Verbindungsstaffeln zugeteilt.

The F2F-1 was used by the Squadrons VF-2B later VF-2, VF-3B later VF-5, VF-5B later VF-4 and VF-7 as well frome the Marne Squadron VF-4M later VMF-2

Die F2F-1 wurde von den Staffeln VF-2B später VF-2, VF-3B später VF-5, VF-5B später VF-4 und VF-7 sowie der Marine-Staffel VF-4M später VMF-2 geflogen.
