The Nakajima A6M2-N was a single-crew float-plane based on the Mitsubishi A6M-2. The A6M2-N floatplane was developed mainly to support amphibious operations and defend remote bases. It was based on the A6M-2 Model 11 fuselage, with a modified tail and added floats. A total of 327 were built, including the original prototype.

Operational history
Einsatzgeschichte
The Escadrille 8S was established in December 1945 at Cat Lai, near Saigon, Indochina. Attempts were made to get a captured Japanese A6M2-N seaplane airworthy again. The plane was lost in an accident soon after.
Die Escadrille 8S wurde im Dezember 1945 in Cat Lai, nahe Saigon, Indochina, aufgestellt. Es wurden Versuche unternommen, ein erbeutetes japani-sches A6M2-N Wasserflugzeug wieder flugtüchtig zu machen. Die Maschine ging aber bald darauf bei einem Unfall verloren.
