The Kyūshū K11W Shiragiku
made by the Kyūshū Aircraft Company, was a land-based bombing trainer
aircraft which served
in the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service a replacement for the
Mitsubishi K3M in the latter
years of World War II. It
was designed to train crews in bombing, navigation, and communication,
as well as navigation techniques.
The trainee pilot and radio operator-gunner were housed in the upper
cockpit, while the student navigator and bombardier sat in the lower
cockpit with the instructor.
A total of 798 K11Ws were manufactured, including a small number of K11W2 ASW and transport aircraft alongside the K11W1 trainer variant.
Die Kyūshū K11W Shiragiku der
Kyūshū Aircraft Company war ein landgestütztes Bomben-trainerflugzeug,
das in den letzten Jahren des Zweiten Weltkriegs der kaiserlichen
japanischen Marineflugdienst als Ersatz für den Mitsubishi K3M diente. Sie
wurde entwickelt, um Besatzungen für Bombenangriffe, Navigation und
Kommunikation sowie in Navigationstechniken zu schulen.
Der angehende Pilot und der Funker-Schütze waren im oberen Cockpit untergebracht, während der Studentennavigator und der Bombenschütze mit dem Ausbilder im unteren Cockpit saßen. Insgesamt wurden 798 K11W hergestellt, darunter eine kleine Anzahl von K11W2 ASW und Transportflugzeugen neben der K11W1-Trainer-variante.

Einsatzgeschichte
The aircraft went into service in the summer of 1943 and remained in production until August 1945.
These aircraft were also used in kamikaze mission during the last stages of the Pacific War.
Das Flugzeug wurde im Sommer 1943 in Dienst gestellt und blieb bis August 1945 in Produktion. Diese Flugzeuge wurden in den letzten Phase des Pazifikkrieges auch in Kamikaze-Missionen einge-setzt.
