The Consolidated Commodore was a flying boat built by Consolidated Aircraft and used for passenger travel in the 1930s, mostly in the Caribbean operated by companies like Pan American Airlines. A pioneer of long haul passenger aircraft industry, the Commodore "Clipper" grew out of a Navy design competition in the 1920s to create an aircraft capable of nonstop flights between the mainland of the United States and Panama, Alaska, and the Hawaiian Islands. In response to these requirements, Consolidated produced the prototype XPY-1 Admiral designed by Isaac M. Laddon in January 1929 but lost the contract to the Martin aircraft company.

Die Consolidated  Commodore war ein Flugboot fü den Personenverkehr in den 1930er Jahren in der Karibik und wurde von Airlines wie Pan American Airlines verwendet. Eine Pioniermaschine für den Langstreckenpassagierflug war die Commodore "Clipper" die aus einem Design-Wettbewerb der Navy in den 1920er Jahren, für ein Flugzeug das in der Lage war Nonstop-Flüge zwischen dem Festland der Vereinigten Staaten und Panama, Alaska und den Hawaii-Inseln zu machen. Consolidated baute für diese Anforderungen den Prototypen XPY-1 Admiral, dei im Januar 1929 von Isaac Isaac M. Laddon entwickelt wurde, verlor aber die Serienfertigung an die Martin Aircraft Company.
